What Is EMFACE?

EMFACE is a non-invasive facial-rejuvenation treatment developed by BTL Aesthetics. It is the first platform to combine synchronized radiofrequency with High-Intensity Facial Electrical Stimulation in one treatment.

Rather than focusing only on the skin’s surface, EMFACE works on two components of facial aging: declining skin firmness and reduced muscle tone. It is Health Canada licensed for non-invasive facial therapies, including wrinkle reduction and skin tightening.

How Does EMFACE Work?

Radiofrequency gently heats the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen and elastin remodelling. This can gradually improve firmness, elasticity and the appearance of wrinkles.

At the same time, HIFES energy creates controlled contractions in selected facial muscles. These contractions help improve muscle tone and support, contributing to a more lifted and defined appearance.

What Happens During Treatment?

Hands-free applicators are positioned over the forehead and cheeks. As treatment begins, you will feel warmth from the radiofrequency and rhythmic facial contractions from the HIFES energy.

The intensity is gradually adjusted according to your comfort. A session takes approximately 20 minutes, and no needles, numbing or anesthesia are required.

When Will I See Results?

Some clients notice subtle changes during their treatment series, but results develop progressively as collagen remodelling and muscle adaptation continue.

More noticeable improvement generally appears several weeks after completing the recommended sessions, with results continuing to develop for approximately three months. Individual outcomes vary.

It may improve the appearance of early jowling related to mild laxity and reduced facial support. It is unlikely to correct advanced jowls or significant loose skin.

Yes, when appropriately timed. Your provider will recommend a schedule based on the injectable product, treatment area and your overall plan.

Treatment may not be appropriate during pregnancy or for people with pacemakers, implanted electronic devices, certain metal implants, active infections or other medical conditions. All implants and health concerns must be disclosed during consultation.
