What Is the Hair Follicle Treatment?

The Hair Follicle Treatment is a non-invasive scalp treatment performed with the BELA MD Aqua cleansing system. It combines controlled fluid delivery, gentle exfoliation and adjustable vacuum suction to remove surface debris while refreshing the scalp.

A customized topical scalp solution is applied as part of the treatment to support a cleaner, more balanced scalp environment.

How Hair Follicle Works?

Fluid is released through the centre of the treatment tip while the surrounding vacuum pathway lifts away excess solution and loosened debris.

Flow and suction levels can be adjusted to the treatment area and scalp condition. BELA MD’s Aqua technology is designed to provide cleansing, gentle exfoliation, waste removal and improved topical serum contact.

Scalp Assessment

Your appointment begins with an assessment of the scalp, hair-density pattern and current concerns. Your provider will look for:

  • Excess oil and visible buildup

  • Flaking or dryness

  • Scalp sensitivity

  • Areas of thinning

  • Product accumulation

  • Signs that require medical assessment

This helps determine whether BELA MD scalp cleansing is appropriate and how it should fit into your broader hair plan.

Supporting Scalp Health

Excess oil and product residue can leave the scalp feeling congested, greasy or uncomfortable. Regular cleansing can help maintain a fresher scalp environment and make a consistent homecare routine easier to manage.

This treatment supports scalp health, but it does not independently correct every cause of hair loss. Hormonal, genetic, nutritional, autoimmune and medication-related hair loss may require medical investigation.

FAQ

Everything you need to know.

Hair Follicle delivers fluid while simultaneously using adjustable suction to lift away loosened oil and surface debris. It also allows the provider to work directly across the scalp in controlled sections.

The treatment supports scalp cleanliness and can complement a hair-restoration program, but scalp cleansing alone is not proven to regrow hair or reactivate permanently inactive follicles.

No. Most clients feel gentle suction, fluid movement and light scalp stimulation. Numbing is not required.

It may remove visible surface flakes and buildup, but dandruff can be associated with seborrheic dermatitis or other scalp conditions. Persistent flaking, itching or inflammation may require medical treatment.

Yes. Aqua cleansing and suction can help remove accumulated oil and residue. It does not permanently change natural oil production, so ongoing care may be needed.

Yes, but the treatments must be appropriately spaced. Your provider will create a schedule that minimizes irritation.

Only after clearance from your transplant surgeon and once the scalp has fully healed. It should not be performed over newly transplanted grafts.

No. Oil, dead skin and product residue naturally return over time. Monthly maintenance and consistent homecare are recommended.

Treatment may need to be postponed or modified for clients with:

  • Active scalp infection

  • Open wounds or broken skin

  • Severe inflammation or tenderness

  • Active psoriasis, eczema or dermatitis flare

  • Recent scalp surgery or hair transplantation

  • Known sensitivity to the topical solution

  • Unexplained patchy or rapidly progressing hair loss

Sudden shedding, smooth bald patches, scalp scarring, significant pain or hair loss accompanied by other health changes should be assessed by a physician or dermatologist.
