Lip fillers are injectable gels used to add or restore volume, refine lip shape and improve definition. Most modern lip fillers are made with hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally present in the body.
Hyaluronic acid binds water and integrates with the surrounding tissue, helping create soft volume while allowing the lips to move naturally. The product is gradually metabolized by the body, making the results temporary.
Natural-looking lip filler is not simply about injecting less product. It requires careful attention to the shape of the lips, their relationship to the nose and chin, dental support, facial proportions and how the lips move when speaking or smiling.

The goal is to create lips that look balanced with your face—not lips that appear identical to someone else’s.
Hyaluronic acid filler is placed strategically within selected areas of the lips. Depending on your goals, the product may be used to create central fullness, define the lip border, improve projection or balance asymmetry.
The technique, placement and product are customized to your anatomy. Adding more filler does not always create a better result, and staged treatments may be recommended when a client wants a significant change.
Your appointment begins with a physician consultation and review of your medical history. The lips are photographed and assessed before a treatment plan is confirmed.
Topical numbing cream is applied for approximately 15–20 minutes. Once the area is numb, the physician injects the filler using a fine needle or cannula, depending on the treatment plan. The lips are evaluated throughout the procedure to maintain balance and proportion.
The injection portion typically takes 15–30 minutes. A complete appointment may take approximately 30–60 minutes, including consultation, numbing and post-treatment review.
Increase Lip Volume
Lip filler can add fullness to naturally thin lips or restore volume that has gradually diminished with age.
Refine Lip Shape
Strategic placement can enhance the Cupid’s bow, improve lip projection and create smoother, more defined contours.
Improve Symmetry
Small differences between the two sides of the lips are normal. Filler can improve visible imbalance, although perfect symmetry cannot be guaranteed.
Create a Hydrated Appearance
Because hyaluronic acid attracts water, treated lips may appear softer, smoother and more hydrated. Filler does not replace regular lip care or treat chronically dry lips.
Smooth Lip and Perioral Lines
Filler may soften fine lines on the lips and around the mouth. More pronounced vertical lines may require a separate or combination treatment.
