What Is LipLase?

LipLase is a needle-free lip-rejuvenation treatment that stimulates the body’s natural collagen response. Unlike lip filler, it does not inject hyaluronic acid or another volumizing material into the lips.

Instead, controlled laser energy gently heats the tissue to encourage collagen contraction and renewal. This may gradually improve the appearance of lip fullness, smoothness, definition and fine lines.

LipLase is designed for subtle rejuvenation. It will not create the immediate or customizable volume possible with injectable lip filler.

How LipLase Works

LipLase uses Fotona’s Er:YAG laser in a specialized non-ablative SMOOTH® mode. The laser delivers a sequence of controlled pulses that gently and evenly heat the treated tissue without intentionally removing its surface.

This thermal effect can:

  • Contract existing collagen fibres

  • Stimulate fibroblast activity

  • Initiate new collagen formation

  • Support longer-term collagen remodelling

  • Improve the structure and appearance of the lip tissue

Collagen renewal occurs gradually, so results become more noticeable over the weeks following treatment.

Internal and External Treatment

Depending on Skinfolio’s customized protocol, laser energy may be applied both inside the mouth and externally.

The intraoral stage treats the inner lip tissue, while the external stage focuses on the visible lips, lip border and surrounding fine lines. This inside-and-out approach allows multiple layers of tissue to be addressed without injections.

What happen in the treatment

Your treatment begins with cleansing the lip area. Protective eyewear is provided. The Fotona laser handpiece delivers gentle pulses of energy to the lip tissue, both externally on the lip surface and intraorally to target deeper structures.

You'll feel a warming sensation as the laser works, but the treatment is comfortable for most clients. No topical anesthetic is typically required. The entire procedure takes approximately 20 minutes.

Yes. LipLase complements lip filler by improving overall lip health and collagen structure. It can enhance and extend your filler results. Many clients use both: LipLase to maintain collagen health and lip quality, with occasional filler for additional volume when desired.

Yes. LipLase uses Fotona's FDA-cleared laser technology and is safe for all skin types. The non-ablative laser gently heats tissue without damaging the surface.

Most clients tolerate the treatment well and describe warmth or brief hot sensations. Comfort varies, and it should not be promised as completely painless.

It is an alternative for clients wanting subtle, needle-free enhancement. It cannot provide the same degree of volume, projection or shape customization as filler.

Wait until the lips are cool, comfortable and free from irritation. Your provider may recommend avoiding lip products for the remainder of the day.

The lips may appear smoother after treatment, but LipLase is not a direct treatment for dehydration or a substitute for moisturizing lip care.

Possibly, but timing and the type, location and age of the filler must be considered. Your provider should assess you before applying laser energy over previously treated tissue.
